UNLV (2011-2013)

I began shooting sports after receiving my first DSLR camera (Nikon D3100) for Christmas in 2010. During this time I photographed for the UNLV Rebel Yell student newspaper and the individual teams for the athletic department. This is where my love for sports photography was born. I had access to all of the sports teams and got so much joy from documenting the moments and sharing them with the athletes. Another perk of the job was traveling on the road with the football team which included trips to Michigan, Washington State, Wyoming and more!

Cleveland Indians - 2014 Photography Intern

I moved back home to Cleveland in 2014 for an internship with the Cleveland Indians. The full time position had me assisting Indians team photographer Dan Mendlik for 40 hours each week during the 2014 season. The best part was photographing every Indians home game. Walk-off wins were always the most exciting because the game could end at any moment and they would always produce the best photos.

That year Corey Kluber won his first Cy Young award and Michael Brantley finished 3rd in MVP voting. Some other notable events included covering Omar Vizquel’s induction into the Indians Hall of Fame and Jim Thome’s statue unveiling. Outside of shooting the games I also helped cover community events, photograph promotional items, work on the photo database and much more. I returned for the 2016 postseason to help Dan edit and post photos to social media during the games. Being there for Game 7 of the World Series is a memory that I will never forget.
